Last but not least you’ve got the final part of the UK, Northern Ireland. Fly or get the ferry to Belfast and spend a few days exploring the turbulent history of Ireland. From the Irish split to the IRA attacks that have left Northern and Republic of Ireland split along religious lines for years. Go for a black cab ride along the murals with a former IRA member and get a true feel for the tensions of the place.

To truly explore NI, i recommends driving the Causeway coastal road that goes all along the northern coast taking in famous sights such as the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Dark hedges, Bushmills distillery and of course the world famous Giant’s Causeway before finishing in Londonderry.

For the Causeway I fully recommend getting up early and going if you don’t want all your pictures to have tourists in them. I got there for 7:30am and was completely alone for 30 minutes.

Finally spend a day or 2 in Derry (Londonderry) and learn about the horror they experienced on the infamous Bloody Sunday when British troops opened fire on protestors. Walk around ‘Free Derry’ and visit the museum to get a true taste of what NI has been going though over the last 30+ years.
